1. Purpose and Data Ownership
CensusMate is a productivity tool designed primarily for educational institutions to manage student census data.
- Data Control: All data entered into this application (student records, personal details, reports) is stored locally on the user’s device.
- No Central Storage: We (the developers) do not have access to, own, or store any of your data on our servers. You are the sole controller and owner of your data.
2. Google Drive Backup Service
Our app provides an optional feature to backup your data to your personal Google Drive account.
- Limited Access: We use the
drive.filescope, which means CensusMate can only access, edit, or delete the specific backup files it has created. It cannot see or access any other personal files in your Google Drive. - User Responsibility: You are responsible for ensuring your Google Account is secure. We are not liable for any data loss occurring through your Google Drive account.
3. User Responsibilities
- Content Accuracy: You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you enter.
- Security: You must ensure the physical security of your device, as the primary database is stored locally.
- Usage: You agree not to use the app for any illegal or unauthorized purpose according to local laws.
4. Privacy Policy Compliance
Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle permissions and your data.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of data, resulting from:
